We tend to find that for slightly better quality food (and nearer) Publix is
best! Wal Mart is cheap and cheerful - "stack them high sell them cheap"
It has a very good non - food section for toys games, etc
Driving Directions
Please print this page and keep it handy to help you with directions when your drive from the airports.
Orlando Executive Villa is found at the end of Troon
Circle, part of the
highly prestigious and sought - after Highlands Reserve Community.
Highlands Reserve is found on Highway 27 just three miles or so south
of Highway 192. When you enter Highlands Reserve Boulevard, look for the
third left turn (just as you approach the Golf Club House.)
You will see the unmistakable "TROON" signs either side of the
road. Keep going right down to the very end.
The map below sets out its location...... Directions from Sanford Airport and
Orlando International Airport appear further down this page. (It may take a few
moments to load - however its worth the wait!)
Directions from Orlando International Airport:
Orlando International Airport is popular with travellers using the scheduled
flights of Virgin Atlantic, Continental and British Airways.
We would suggest reading carefully about the "double baggage"
handling aspects of O.I.A. so you are prepared for when you arrive. Exiting the formalities
of O.I.A. is slightly more complicated than Sanford Airport - however you are
closer to the main attractions.
When you've picked up your hire car, come this way (Expect about 35
minutes drive - take it easy until you adjust to being left hand drive, right hand side
of the road - it will only take a short time - it's EASY driving in America! -
See the driving tips or click here.)
Leaving Orlando International Airport
As a principle you are aiming for the south-bound exit of the airport. (If
you accidentally go north - don't worry just pick up the Interstate 4 (I4) and
follow the remaining directions given from Sanford (below.)
 |
Head towards the Airport Exit |
 |
Airport Exit becomes South Access Road |
 |
South Access Road becomes Boggy Creek Road |
 |
At the Junction with the Highway SR417 take the south bound slip road
(Americans call them "Ramps" |
 |
Merge onto Florida Greeneway (417) (Be aware there are tolls on this road - and you
will need some dollars - if necessary buy something small for the airport with
one of your smaller travellers cheques) |
 |
Take the Celebration Avenue Exit (Exit 2) towards US 192 (highway) |
 |
Keep right at the fork in the ramp. |
 |
Merge onto Celebration Avenue. |
 |
You will be turning slightly right and merging onto W Irlo Bronson Memorial
Highway (which becomes the 192) |
 |
The 192 has markers along the length of it. Carry on to Marker no. 4 (don't
worry if you can't see it.) |
 |
Eventually the 192 joins with Highway 27 (It peters out) You have to get into
the left hand lane to take the south bound route of the 27 -(Direction Haines
City.) |
 |
Join the 27 and travel for 2 - 3 miles. |
 |
Highlands Reserve is clearly marked on the Right Hand Side. |
 |
You will enter Highlands Reserve Blvd. Take the 3rd left turn into
Troon. |
What To Do If You Overshoot Highlands Reserve:
Ease into the left hand lane and look for one of the many crossing locations
over the road. Being careful to avoid oncoming cars, do a U -Turn (People do this
all the time in America)
Return on the opposite side of the Highway until you find Highlands again
(now on your left!)
Directions from Sanford Airport:
Sanford Airport is the popular airport for travellers coming in on Chartered
airlines.
These typically include Air 2000, Britannia, European, JMC, Monarch and My
Travel
When you've picked up your hire car, come this way (Expect about 1 hour's
drive - take it easy until you adjust to being left hand drive, right hand side
of the road - it will only take a short time - it's EASY driving in America! -
See the driving tips or click here.)
Leaving Sanford Airport
 |
Exit onto Lake Mary Boulevard |
 |
Drive 82 miles to the Interstate 4 (I4) Interchange |
 |
Take the I4 westbound route (direction of Orlando) |
 |
(N.B. You will be on the I4 for quite some time - about 45 minutes or so.
(Its probable best to stick in the middle lane if you wish to avoid the sections
where the right hand lane occasionally becomes "exit only." Remember
that whilst you're getting used to driving in America - people can pass you both
sides - and therefore you won't be in anyone's way) |
 |
At Junction 64 (This is split into 64A and 64B so be careful!): Take the exit
for Highway 192 (West) (It will probably be marked Disney too!) |
 |
The 192 has markers along the length of it. Carry on to Marker no. 4 (don't
worry if you can't see it.) |
 |
Eventually the 192 joins with Highway 27 (It peters out) You have to get into
the left hand lane to take the south bound route of the 27 -(Direction Haines
City.) |
 |
Join the 27 and travel for 2 - 3 miles. |
 |
Highlands Reserve is clearly marked on the Right Hand Side. |
